The Arthobler gallery was founded in 2001 and started its activities in the Rua Miguel Bombarda 624 in Oporto. Since spring 2009, it runs a second gallery in Lisbon, at the LX Factory, an upcoming creative area, which is growing in an old industrial complex. We represent national and international contemporary artists who are working in a wide range of media, from drawing, painting, sculpture, photography and installation to video and new media art. As part of our strategy, we focus on artists whose works in an individual and critical language reflect the contemporary spirit and are stimulating and encouraging reflections on the experience and perception of our time. We care to maintain a close collaboration with the artists and present their works continuously in individual exhibitions, publications and art fairs. The gallery program includes about six exhibitions of national and international artists per year in each gallery and hopes to surprise with interesting projects of several origins, techniques and materials. Apart from presenting the work of recognized artists, it is important for us to discover and promote young and unknown artists and to maintain an exchange of individual exhibitions with international galleries. |
A galeria Arthobler foi fundada em 2001 e iniciou a sua actividade na Rua Miguel Bombarda 624, no Porto. A partir de Abril de 2009, a Arthobler gere uma segunda galeria em Lisboa, localizada na Lx Factory, uma ideia criativa em crescimento, a qual se está a desenvolver num antigo complexo industrial. Representamos artistas nacionais e estrangeiros com obra numa abrangente variedade de disciplinas: do desenho, pintura, escultura, fotografia e instalação ao vídeo e novos meios artísticos. Como parte da nossa estratégia, focamo-nos em artistas cujo trabalho, numa linguagem individual e crítica, reflita o espírito contemporâneo, estimulando e encorajando reflexões sobre a experiência e a percepção do nosso tempo. Temos o cuidado de manter uma estreita colaboração com os artistas e apresentar as suas obras em exposições individuais de forma contínua, em publicações e em feiras de arte. O programa da galeria inclui cerca de seis exposições de artistas nacionais e internacionais por ano em cada galeria e espera surpreender com projectos interessantes de várias origens, técnicas e materiais. Além de representar o trabalho de artistas reconhecidos é importante para nós descobrir e promover artistas novos e desconhecidos e manter um intercâmbio de exposições individuais com galerias internacionais. |
